The Foil Print Fabric is a metallic-finished knitted textile engineered for applications requiring reflective surface aesthetics combined with mechanical stretch. The composition of 77% Polyester and 23% Spandex delivers a fabric with substantial body and elastic recovery. At 240 GSM with a width of 150 CM, this material provides full opacity with a structured hand-feel. The foil printing process applies a metallic layer to the fabric surface, creating a reflective finish that maintains its integrity under tension. The polyester base provides dye affinity for the foil adhesive, while the spandex ensures the metallic surface stretches without cracking or delaminating.

FAQ

Does the foil finish crack when stretched?

The foil is applied with a stretch-compatible adhesive engineered to move with the 23% spandex content. The metallic layer maintains integrity up to 60% elongation. Beyond this point, micro-cracking may occur but does not typically result in flaking or delamination.

How should foil-printed garments be laundered?

Machine wash at 30°C on gentle cycle with the garment turned inside out. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach. Air dry recommended; tumble dry low heat only. The foil finish maintains appearance through 30 wash cycles with proper care.

Is the foil surface suitable for over-printing?

Over-printing on the foil surface is not recommended as the metallic layer creates a non-porous surface. For designs combining foil and print, apply print areas before foil application or use screen-printable foil adhesives.

What is the recommended ironing method?

Iron on the reverse side only at temperatures below 110°C. Do not apply direct heat to the foil surface as this can melt or distort the metallic layer. For wrinkle removal, steaming from a distance is preferred.
